Study the situation and complete the chart below.
In her beginner class, Hafsa, a middle school teacher, started the lesson with a reading activity about
John's daily routines. Then, she asks students to think about their daily routines. Students work in pairs
to brainstorm ideas and complete a graphic organizer about their routines. Students begin writing their
first drafts individually, using their charts as a guide. The teacher walks around the classroom, providing
individual support and answering questions. After that, she asks students to exchange drafts with a
partner and provide feedback using a simple checklist she provides (focus on content, clarity, and
organization). Next, she gives students 5 minutes to check for grammar, capitalization, and spelling
errors individually. Finally, students write their final drafts and submit them to Hafsa. After one week,
she gives back the papers to the students with grades on them. Some of the students do not know why

Souad teaches an 8 grade class of 35 students aged 12-14 years in an EFL setting at a public school.
The class meets twice a week for 60 minutes. The students have some exposure to English through
media and school, but English is not spoken in their daily environment. The teacher’s primary goal is to

pronunciation, short attention span, fear of making mistakes, and an excessive level of energy, which
