- A — not only due to … but also to : corrélation « not only … but also ».
- D — are being made redundant : passif au présent progressif (« at the moment »).
- D — can : « unless they can come to an agreement » (capacité ; « will » est exclu après unless, « cannot » crée un contresens).
- C — will improve : futur dans la principale, présent après « when ».
- B — social : adjectif, parallèle à emotional et biological.
- A — understood : « make oneself understood » (participe passé).
- A — beyond its control : expression figée.
- C — have to depend : obligation (« have to + verbe »).
- Réponse probable : B — Computers are used for making decisions…, but also for forecasting : il manque sujet et auxiliaire. C (« Not only computers are… ») serait fautif : placé en tête, « not only » exige l'inversion (« Not only are computers…
STRUCTURE (16-30) : identifier l'erreur
| Q | Réponse | Correction |
|---|---|---|
| 16 | D | catering to → cater to (parallélisme : reduce, improve, cater) |
| 17 | C | have → has (sujet : The computer) |
| 18 | D | promptly → prompt (adjectif devant le nom attention) |
| 19 | D | succeed → success (nom après « our ») |
| 20 | C | do loans → make loans |
| 21 | C | his → its (the company) |
| 22 | D | informations → information (indénombrable) |
| 23 | B | their → its (the government, singulier) |
| 24 | C | have → had (the manager, singulier, et antériorité dans le passé) |
| 25 | A | The happiness → Happiness (nom abstrait employé de façon générale) |
| 26 | A | much of which → many of which (games, dénombrable) |
| 27 | A | Because → Because of (suivi d'un groupe nominal) |
| 28 | B | most large → largest (superlatif d'un adjectif court) |
| 29 | B | the brains → the brain |
| 30 | A | Textiles industries → Textile industries (nom employé comme adjectif, invariable) |

Topic 1 — Time is as important as money (modèle d'environ 180 mots)
I largely share the view that time is as valuable as money, but I do not believe that good time management alone guarantees success. First, time is a resource that cannot be recovered. A student who plans his revision week by week arrives at the exam calm and prepared, while one who wastes his evenings must cram at the last minute. In business, companies that deliver on time win their clients' trust: a late product launch can cost a firm its market share. Second, managing time well multiplies our efficiency. Setting priorities, avoiding distractions such as social media and keeping a clear schedule allow us to do more in less time and to keep a balance between work and private life. However, time management is a tool, not a guarantee. Success also depends on skills, motivation, creativity and sometimes luck. A perfectly organised person who works on the wrong project will still fail. In conclusion, good time management is a necessary condition for success, but not a sufficient one: it must be combined with competence and the right goals.
Topic 2 — Roads and transport or education? (plan)
- Position : give priority to education, while recognising that infrastructure is also needed.
- Argument 1 : education builds human capital, the basis of long-term growth, innovation and employability ; it reduces poverty and inequality.
- Argument 2 : infrastructure without skilled people is under-used ; investors look for qualified workers as much as for highways.
- Concession : roads, highways and public transport reduce costs, open up rural areas and give access to schools ; both investments are complementary.
- Conclusion : a balanced budget, with education as the first long-term priority.
