Time in Morocco: GMT all year since 20 September 2026
Wadifa Info · updated 31 October 2026 · Also in French and Arabic
In short: Morocco is on GMT (UTC+0) all year. It left GMT+1 at 02:00 on Sunday 20 September 2026, when clocks went back to 01:00, and there is no longer a clock change for Ramadan. Any page that still says GMT+1 is out of date.
Time in Morocco now: GMT
What changed
Decree 2.26.530 on legal time was adopted on 25 June 2026 and published in the Official Bulletin no. 7521. It repeals decree 2.18.855 of 26 October 2018, which had added 60 minutes to legal time. From 2018 to 2026 Morocco used GMT+1 and returned to GMT during Ramadan. That arrangement has ended.

For developers and calendar tools
The change is in the IANA time zone database from release 2026c (8 July 2026), for Africa/Casablanca and Africa/El_Aaiun. A live clock that still shows UTC+1 for Morocco is usually running older time zone data. Update the system or the tzdata package. Hard-coded Ramadan rules can be removed for dates from 20 September 2026.
